Just to confirm …

… that Annette will address us on Sunday 23rd May via Zoom. The subject is to be “The mysterious affair at Stony Stratford”.

A radio programme and our next event

First, I hope you all listened to Radio 4’s The Reunion on Easter Day morning or have caught up since: Although none of the Looking for Richard team were able to take part in the actual programme, the introduction included John talking about the mtDNA search, Adam Hart-Davis reciting the “river” myth in 1999, either on Local Heroes or What the Tudors did for us, Hicks mentioning the Shakespeare legend, Philipa Langley about her approach to the car park and Michael Ibsen on his late mother, Joy Brown, in Canada. The actual programme featured the physical search on 25th August 2012, the press conference on 4th February the following year and events leading to the 2015 reburial, including Ibsen’s work on the tomb and the discovery of Wendy Duldig, an Australian female-line descendant of Joan Beaufort, as a backup.

However, we shall be addressed by one of the LFR team during late May. Annette Carson will return to a Group meeting late that month, albeit by Zoom this time, to discuss her new version of Mancini and the integrity of sources in general.

Visits will resume in July, at The Hold.
